This photo can also be an interesting personal iconography. One side is in a shadow a second in a relative light. These two are in every second a matter of choice. Things flow, that's the river. The boat is coming toward us, leading the spectator to look at the bird (as hope) and then at the light in the corner (which may be a conciousness of himself)...

Thus a lot of places/things can be seen through this symbolic picture. :-)
